Crucial Knowledge continues to introduce internet based training courses specific to the aviation industry.  The benefits of online training include: 

  • Convenience - participants can take courses from the comfort of their home or office.

  • Focus on Students - participants can select courses when needed and can proceed at their own pace.

  • Cost Effectiveness - travel is not required and online training costs are less than instructor led classes.

  • Timeliness - courses are updated as changes in ISO/AS/QS standards occur.

To enroll in any of Crucial Knowledge's on line courses, contact Crucial Knowledge via email:  gary@crucial-knowledge.info.  A password and web site will be issued to each participant via email to allow access to the course via the Internet.  Participants are expected to complete each course within 30 days of password issuance. Participants must have access to the Internet using Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser and email capability.

The Drug and Alcohol on-line courses may be used for meeting the initial training and recurrent training requirements specified in the FAA regulations. Supervisor initial training should be completed within a reasonable time of first performing supervisory duties (e.g. 30 days), and mandatory recurrent training should be conducted on an annual basis.  To obtain detailed information on the Federal Regulations, visit the official site of the Federal Aviation Administration 14CFR Part 121 Appendix I (Drugs) and Appendix J (Alcohol).

ISO 9001:2000 Transition Auditor Course - $390


ISO 9001:1994 requires system audits and ISO 9001:2000 requires process audits.  This RAB/IATCA/IRCA course is designed for practicing auditors as well as organizations that want training on auditing to the new ISO 9001:2000 standard.  Learn how to meet these new requirements while gaining valuable skills.  The changes from the 1994 standard to the 2000 standard are considered significant.  The principles upon which the revisions are based will require changes in audit practice among auditors.  QMS auditors will need to understand the significance and impact of the revisions.

ISO 14001:2004 Transition Course - $195


 

Following the newly issued version of ISO 14001:2004, IRCA has mandated that their certificated auditors must learn about the new version of ISO 14001 and the implications on your approach to auditing against it as part of individual continuing professional development (CPD) which will be reviewed at your annual renewal. This course meets that requirement.

 

This course is monitored by an EMS auditor.

 

After taking this eight (8) hour on-line course, the IRCA or RAB/QSA EMS auditors will receive a copy of the syllabus and a certificate for their CPD.

Anti-Drug & Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program for Employees - $169


The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) oversees compliance by employers in the aviation industry. From large corporations to smaller companies, adherence to the Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program is critical to ensure the continued safety of commercial aviation. Therefore, all persons performing safety-sensitive functions in the aviation industry are required to be trained. Safety-sensitive functions include:

  • Flight crew member duties

  • Flight attendant duties

  • Flight instruction duties

  • Aircraft dispatcher duties

  • Aircraft maintenance or preventive maintenance duties

  • Ground security coordinator duties

  • Aviation screening duties

  • Air traffic controller duties (at facilities not operated by the FAA or by or under contract to the United States military)

Today, over 12 million commercial transit workers under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) are required to participate in drug and alcohol testing programs.

Employees will be able to:
1. Identify the events leading up to the establishment of the Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program Regulations.
2. Describe what safety sensitive workers are and why safety sensitive workers are part of the Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
3. Define the six required types of tests in the Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
4. Describe what prohibited conduct is for drug use and alcohol misuse.
5. State the five prohibited drugs the program tests for and outline actions and effects of their use.
6. Recall the consequences of a verified positive drug or alcohol test.
7. Define alcohol and prohibited conduct under the Alcohol Misuse regulations.
8. Recall the consequences for refusal to submit to a drug or alcohol test.
9. Define the permanent bar and what behavior will cause a safety sensitive worker to be permanently barred.
10. Ask questions and receive answers online.
 

Employee training should be completed within a reasonable time of first performing safety-sensitive work (e.g. 30 days). This course may also be used for employee refresher training which is recommended but not mandatory.
