What: Registration as a Lead Auditor for ISO 9000 standards requires that an individual take a required course and pass an examination. Successful completion of this course and the examination (included) fulfills the training requirements of the National Registration Scheme for Assessors of Quality Systems.   Measurement Uncertainty in Aviation Manufacturing and Inspection


What:  This 16-hour in-depth course offers the student the opportunity to learn and recognize the characteristics of uncertainty in measurement and the development of decision guidelines for determining conformance to specifications based on the new ASME B89.7.3.1-2001 Metrology Standard.  Included is an example of creating and using a measurement plan with an included uncertainty statement based on the ASME B89.7.2-1999 Metrology Standard.

  • Basic requirements of dimensions from design
  • Results and reporting of data from different measurement processes
  • Factors defining the components of uncertainty
  • Precision and Accuracy – how they relate to measurements
  • Differences between methods of reporting measurements
  • How to create and use a simple measurement plan

What:  This 24-hour in-depth course offers the student the opportunity to learn and recognize the characteristics of functional gages and fixtures design based on the new ASME Y14.43-2003 Standard.  A strong understanding of GD&T (based on the ASME Y14.5M-1994 Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standard) is essential.  An 8-hour GD&T refresher course dedicated to understanding boundaries is available (see below).
